Sarah Ann Barnes

Sarah Ann Barnes was born on October 21, 1948, in Hartwell, Georgia to the late Jameson Barnes and Lydia (Sturghill) Barnes.

"Sate Bate" as she was so affectionately called, departed her life on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

She leaves cherished memories to her only child, Sarah Kathleen (Stergen) Newman of Elberton, GA; her three precious grandchildren, Avery Thomas Newman, Jordyn McKenzie Newman and Madisyn Joi Newman all of Elberton, GA; her siblings, Janice Olivia Barnes, Jesse Calvin Barnes, Pamela Barnes Mattox all of Hartwell, GA, Annette Barnes Rucker and Cottrell O'Neal (Claudette) Barnes both of Elberton, GA; "Sate Bate" was a mom to many nieces, nephews and cousins who will all miss her dearly.

Honoring the final wishes of Ms. Sarah Barnes, no formal services will be held.

The family are receiving friends of the community at 31 Somerset Rd. Hartwell, Georgia.
