Mrs. Sheila Vernell (Hartgrove) Roberts, age 68, of Petersburg Road, Elberton, Georgia passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton, Georgia.

Mrs. Sheila Vernell Roberts (née Hartgrove), affectionately known as Turtle, passed away on June 29, 2024, in Elberton, GA, at the age of 68. Born in Shelby, NC. Sheila was a steadfast presence, known for her serious, no-nonsense personality, which was uniquely her own. Her life was a testament to strength and devotion, qualities that made her 34 years of marriage to me possible.

Sheila graduated from American Academy and later retired from Carolina Medical in Charlotte, NC, where she dedicated many years of service. Even after retirement, Sheila continued to engage in activities that brought joy and comfort not only to her life but also to those around her. She was a skilled seamstress and took pleasure in crochet and knitting, alongside her passion for gardening and playing solitaire.

Sheila was a cherished member of Forest Hill Church, where she participated in community and spiritual activities, reflecting her commitment to her faith and community.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters Tyra and Shanita Stenson, grandsons Michael and Markel Stenson, and great-granddaughter Sade' Stenson, all of whom will miss her deeply and cherish her memory.

No formal services will be held, we ask that you keep the Roberts family in your thoughts and prayers.
