Stephanie "Step" Patricia Phelps, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, March 05, 2024 in Elberton, Georgia.
Ms. Stephanie Patricia Barnes-Phelps (Step) was called to eternity on Tuesday morning, March 5, 2024, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. She was born in Elbert County, Georgia on January 28, 1966, to the late Horace Barnes and Doris Lucille Barnes.
She graduated from Elbert County High School, Class of 1985. She attended Savannah State University and Fort Valley State University.
Because of her love for God, and she was affiliated with The Jehovah Witnesses.
Stephanie had an outgoing personality and loved to have fun. She loved listening to music, dancing and singing and especially singing songs from her favorite artists Anita Baker, Kem and Tems. She also believed in loyalty to her family and those she considered as her family. She was free-hearted. If she had enough to give, it was yours. If you were hungry, she would cook more than enough to share.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Corrie W. Phelps, Jr., Augusta, GA and Dorian C. Phelps, Elberton, GA.; one adopted son, Trevon Fortson, Elberton, GA; one brother: Derrick K. Barnes (Valerie), Port Wentworth, GA; two aunts: Mildred Smith-Harris, Evanston, IL and Carolyn Smith-Fletcher, Savannah, GA; three nieces: Naeemah Dixon, Camille Mack and Jasmine Barnes; three goddaughters: Vernyeica Sims, Shirese Sims and Taquanda (Ty) Bernard; one godson: Nicholas Sims; Special Cousin/Son: Jaden Howard: six great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 2:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
