Sylvia Elaine Tate

Mrs. Sylvia Elaine Tate, age 65 of Elberton, Georgia entered her eternal rest Monday February 27, 2023.

Ms. Elaine (Sylvia) Tate was born February 16, 1958, in Elbert County to Mrs. Sylvia L. Willis and to the late Mr. Norris Willis.

Ms. Elaine (Sylvia) Tate entered her eternal rest on February 27, 2023, at Piedmont Hospital, Athens, Georgia.

She joined Carlton Grove Baptist church at an early age. She worked at Platoon Manufacturing for thirty-seven years and worked for a few years at Platinum Sportwear in Tignall, Georgia. 

Ms. Elaine (Sylvia) Tate was a dedicated wife to James C. Tate Jr. for thirty-four years until his death in 2013. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, niece, and cousin.

She loved to sing God Praises. She enjoyed the outdoors so she could plant her garden and flowers. She especially loved her family.
Her favorite song was “I Never Lost My Praise,” by Tramaine Hawkins.

Preceded her in death, her husband James Charles Tate Jr., one brother Earl Willis and Father Norris Willis. 

She leaves to cherish her memories her lovable children Shervette Loria Tate and Dareon O’Neal Tate, her compassionate Mother Sylvia L. Willis her gifted grandsons LaKel Hood (Kel) and Dareon O. Tate (DJ). Her devoted sister Lorette (Alvin) Jackson. She also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 12:00 - 5:00pm located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel. 

The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00pm on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Mack's Funeral Home. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11:00am located at Carlton Grove Baptist Church - Elberton GA. 

Interment will follow the funeral service at Carlton Grove Baptist Church - Elberton, GA.
