Terrace Latrice Allen age 48, of Macon, Georgia formerly of Elberton, Georgia, entered her eternal rest on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
On one fine afternoon, August 7, 1973 at 3 PM, we were blessed with a bundle of sunshine, Terrace Latrice Allen (a.k.a. Chubby and Faith on Fleet). God allowed her to stay amongst us and bring joy to us for a time as she grew to become a beautiful God-fearing woman. Her inner glow extended outward, brightening the lives of those who knew her. On June 18, 2022, at 6:16 PM, God became lonely and decided to call Terrace to come home. She dutifully obeyed our holy father and returned home to him.
Born in Elberton, Georgia, very early on in her life, Terrace started out in the world experiencing rich and rewarding adventures. As a child, she tagged along with her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins to various exciting locations around the country. These early adventures planted a seed for her as she continued her life filled with curious wonderings and wanderings. By the time Terrace was five, she had taken her first flight to the other side of the country, all by herself to California where she attended school in both the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. She also attended elementary school in Montgomery, Alabama. Terrace attended Elbert County Comprehensive High School during her ninth and tenth-grade years. During her junior year of high school, she attended Mercy Academy in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1991, Terrace graduated from Central High School in Macon, Georgia. After high school, she matriculated at Middle Georgia College (1992-1994).
Looking for better opportunities, Terrace moved to Florida where she worked as an administrative assistant. Terrace joined the Love Thou Neighbor Church under the leadership of Bishop Charles McWhorter in Orlando, Florida. The church family adopted Terrace and her son, Brandon, as their very own. Under their loving care, attention, and leadership, Terrace grew closer to God. As her health began to decline, she moved to Macon, Georgia to live with her aunt, Dr. Sandra Lea Hamm Gibbs and her uncle, Henry Thomas Gibbs. Throughout her life, Terrace created a large community of family and friends around her. She could easily fill any room with her joyous and infectious laughter, bold ideas about life, and a deep spiritual connection to God. Although Terrace kept her giftedness close to her heart, she possessed keen skills as a storyteller, poet, and writer. She could easily captivate the circle around her with her vivid conversation.
Terrace was preceded in death by her father (William Carter Allen, Jr., her maternal grandparents (Charles Augustus Hamm, Sr. and Marie-Louise Anne Parker Hamm), her paternal grandparents (William Carter Allen, Sr., and Thelma Rossie Smith Allen), and her most beloved Aunt Sandra Lea Hamm Gibbs.
Left to cherish the memories of her are her son, Bran, (Brandon O’Neil Winn, Jr.), her mother Patsy (Patricia Hamm Allen), a sister (Aldra Mathis Walker), a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her church family from Florida.
