Tommie Burch

Mr. Tommie Burch, age 71 of Lithonia, Georgia formerly of Hartwell, Georgia, entered his eternal rest on Monday, January 01, 2024. 

Mr. Tommie Burch was born on January 4, 1952, to the parentage of the late Mr. Berry Burch and Mrs. Clouis Fouch Burch; he was the eighth of eleven children born to this union. He was reared in the home along with his first cousins whom he loved as his very own siblings.

At an early age in life Tommie accepted Jesus as his Savor and joined the Maple Spring Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dansby. Tommie felt the need to better his life therefore he left Nuberg Community and moved to North Carolina with his big brothers Ken and Frank. He then adventured to Washington, DC where he lived for many years while there, he joined First Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was a faithful member. He served as a willing worker who supported the various church ministries and was a member of the Gibson Gospel Singers. Tommie was a jack of all trades and could do and work on anything that was placed in front of him. His love for flowers led him to working in the flower shop for many years. Upon his retirement he relocated back to Georgia and resided in the Atlanta area where he lived a happy life until his passing. Tommie had a compassion for bowling in which you could find him in the lanes during his spare time.

Tommie will forever be missed, and he has reunited with his parents, his siblings Annie Lois Dozier, Robert “Ken” Burch, Jimmy L. Burch, Benny Frank Allen, Earnest Lee Allen and Sylvia Jones.

His memories are cherished by his daughter, Tammy Burch-Newton; his son, Anthony Hyshaw; his sisters, Jeannette Epps, Sherdene Huff, Betty Hunt, Yvonne Craft, Virginia Henderson, Dorothy (Richard) Gaines, Barbara (Paul) Van-Hagen; his brothers, Albert (Julia) Burch, Aurthamis (Frances) Burch, Marvin (Deborah) Burch, Calvin Allen; He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 10:00am, located at Maple Spring Baptist Church.
