On September 5, 2024, just as the date was coming into existence, in the stillness of darkness, the Lord in his great wisdom dispatched his angels to Northside Hospital Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, Georgia to peacefully relocate the soul of Mrs. Vesta (Waller) Craft to her new home.
Vesta Waller Craft passed away on September 5, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on July 23, 1949, in Hartwell, Georgia, Vesta lived her entire life in this close-knit community that she cherished deeply.
Daughter of Vanna Waller Sr. and Mary Gaines Waller, both of whom predeceased her, Vesta was also preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Vanna Waller Jr. and Robert Waller.
A dedicated and compassionate individual, Vesta devoted many years to serving others through her work in environmental services at Hart County Hospital, Heritage Inn, and the Hart County School System, where she retired with distinction. Her unwavering commitment to her work and family was matched only by her faith.
As a lifelong member of Cedar Spring Baptist Church, Vesta’s contributions to the kitchen ministry reflected her nurturing spirit and her dedication to those around her. Her vibrant energy was evident in her love for dancing, her cherished family gatherings, her enjoyment of her favorite television series and the joy she had for planting and taking care of her flowers.
Vesta leaves behind her loving children—Stacey Craft (Melissa Craft), Laquitta Craft, and Chemika Craft-Ramos (Omar Ramos)—as well as her treasured grandchildren Antwon Hunt (Christe Hunt), Stadarrius Craft, Stavantae’ Rucker, Marissa Craft, Toni Hickmon, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to her family and friends.
In celebrating Vesta’s remarkable life, we find solace in the joy and love she brought into the world. May her legacy of kindness and her enduring spirit continue to guide and uplift us.
Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 3:00pm, located at Flat Rock C.M.E. Church.
