Today we celebrate the life of William Thomas McCann, Jr. He was born on November 5, 1964, to the late William Thomas McCann, Sr. and Willie Kate (Johnson) McCann.
He was affectionally known as “Fat” and “Lil Jr” by his family.
He graduated from Hart County High School in 1983. He worked at Tenneco Automotive for 36 years. He was currently employed at TI Automotive. He was hard working, loved basketball, football, and movies. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was married to Cora Ann Blackwell McCann for 31 years, to this union two children were born.
Preceding him in death is his wife Cora, his parents Thomas, Sr. and Willie Kate McCann; sisters Janice McCann Isom, Mary Helen McCann, and Evette Dooley.
He leaves to cherish memories to his son, Treston McCann (Tyesha Brown), Rasheda Robinson of South Carolina; his daughter, Toneisha (Steve) Schnake of Canon, Georgia; two grandchildren, Trevon Sharp of Florida, Treslynn McCann of South Carolina; one brother, Terry Ravenell of Bowersville, Georgia; father and mother-in-law, Thomas Lee and Rose Ann (Rucker) Blackwell of Bowman, Georgia; nine aunts, Minister Elizabeth Harper, Clara Montgomery (William), Sarah Holland (James), Glenda Verdell, Ilene McCann, Idell McCann all of Hartwell, Georgia, Mary Ann Moore, Gloria McCann, Marlisha McCann all of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Marie Blackwell, and Rosie Lee Gray of Bowman, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Thomas (Tiffany) Blackwell, Jr. of Toccoa, Georgia; his best friend, Mr. Gregory Daniels of Hartwell, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 1:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 1:00pm, located at Rucker's Grove Baptist Church.
Internment will immediately follow the funeral service located at Rucker's Grove Baptist Church.
