Willie Eugene (Buck) Davis

Life is but a vapor and death are inevitable for each one of us; the Lord in his own divine wisdom suddenly carried the soul of Mr. Willie Eugene "Buck" Davis, to his Heavenly home on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, Georgia. Mr. Davis was the husband of the late Mrs. Gussie Mary (Dye) Davis.

Mr. Willie Eugene "Buck" Davis was born on July 16, 1939, in Elberton Georgia, to the late George and Paralee Davis. He peacefully departed this life on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Piedmont Athens Regional, surrounded by love.

Willie joined Vance Creek Baptist Church at an early age. He dedicated fifty years of his life working as a Crane Operator at Landmark Granite, where he was known for his hard work, reliability, and strong work ethic. Willie was a loving husband, a devoted father to his children, and a father figure to many others. He was known for his unique sense of humor and witty remarks. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed growing his garden, spending time "piddle-paddling" around the house, fishing and rabbit hunting. Whether working in his yard or sharing stories with loved ones, Willie had a way of making every moment special.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Gussie Mary Davis; his parents George and Paralee Davis; his brothers George Samuel Davis, James Leroy (Annette) Davis, John Henry Davis, Seabon (Elnora) Davis, Sr and Verge (Lizzie Mae) Davis; his sisters Donia Davis, Ollie Lou Davis (George) Allen and Sally Sue (O.D) Burton.

Willie leaves to cherish his memories his children, Terry (Alicia) Davis, Leon (Sonia) Davis, Tim (Barbara) Davis, Sholonda (Yusuf) Ra'aid, Reggie Davis and Lance (Raneshia) Davis; along with a host of sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 2:00pm, located at Bethel Grove Baptist Church. 

Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Bethel Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
