Winston Nolen Heard Sr.

Mr. Winston Heard Sr., age 68 of Elberton, Georgia entered his eternal rest on Monday, May 08, 2023.

Winston Nolen Heard Sr. was born on August 22, 1954, to the late Deacon James & Sister Wilma Heard. He was one of seven children born to this union. He greeted this world at Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton, GA. As he transitioned on May 8, 2023, he was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy.

Winston grew up and attended school in Elberton, GA, creating invaluable memories with his siblings and cousins. He proceeded to attend college at Savannah State University, studying Accounting and Business Management. Winston spent several years working in the Accounting and Financial Planning world, but eventually transitioned into Financial Economic and Housing Development. For almost 21 years, he passionately worked for East Athens Development Corporation, retiring as the CEO. Winston organized workshops, planned seminars, secured grants and much more to ensure affordable housing was available to the community he served. In addition, he led initiatives surrounding tax preparation assistance, financial literacy and after school programs for children. Winston was dedicated to ensuring his community had the tools needed to grow and be successful.

In his spare time, Winston enjoyed watching documentaries, family time and sports. Winston leaves to cherish his memories, eight children: Samantha Steers, Winston Heard Jr., Santana
Heard, Morganne Heard, Alaina Heard, Natalie Roby, Elton McIntosh, and Samantha Whitlock. His loving siblings who also carry memories in their hearts include Stewart Heard, Sharon Heard, Theresa Heard, Stacy Heard, Angelo Heard and his brother in heaven Dexter Heard. He was also the proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren, and has a host of nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home Elberton Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 1:00pm located at Love and Action Christian Outreach Center. 

Interment will follow the funeral service at Lincoln Heights Cemetery - Elberton, GA.
