Carl was a good friend to me and he always made me smile. He was tough in so many ways and he always joked with me. I am so blessed to have had him in my life. He worked with my daddy and my grandpa and Uncle Rod and he was always my favorite employee. I will miss him and love him always. Suzanne

Carl Stanley McLendon aka BABY was an honest, hard-working, loving, tough man who loved his family and who loved his job. I had the honor to know and work with him for over 37 years and am honored to call him family. He had an infectious, winning smile and his laugh brought laughter to anyone he met. He was the best truck driver (spreader) to have ever crossed the scales at McLanahan Crushed Stone and everyone that he delivered stone to always asked for him back. One of the saddest days for me was when he got sick and could no longer drive a truck and do what he did best. But Carl did not let it get him down. He endured many health problems and as they got worse, his spirit was never broken. He was so strong and determined until the end. I will always cherish being able to work with him for so many years and I cherish the memories that he brought to me and my family, Rest in peace, my friend. I love you. Janet
